We wish our team who are representing Longford in the National final of Table Quiz in An Grianan, Termonfeckin this week end the best of luck. Members of team are Margaret McDonald, Vera Flood and Mary Carthy. The annual general meeting of Legan ICA takes place on Monday, 14th April in the GAA Clubhouse at 8pm. A programme of classes and events for the coming year will be put in place. Anyone with ideas for the betterment of the community can come along and join in. New members are very welcome.
Ballycloghan Foroige would like to thank everyone for their support at their recent car wash. The day was a great success and they look forward to your continued support. Community Games Art
Legan/ Ballycloghan Community Games Art Competition takes place this Friday, April 11th at 6pm in the Aurora Hall, Legan. Training continues every Saturday at 12pm, meeting at GAA Clubhouse.
A further meeting of Legan Tidy Town’s takes place this Thursday, April 10th at 9pm in Milly’s Cottage. The future of Legan Tidy Town’s depends on the turnout and if the community is not interested, then Tidy Town’s for 2014 will cease. “It’s our village it’s where we live”
St Joseph’s meeting
A meeting of St Joseph’s Young Priest’s Society will be held this evening Wednesday, 9th April following 7pm Mass in St Anne’s Ballycloghan.
The final staging of “Big Maggie” by Legan Drama Group will be on Easter Monday night, 21st April in the Aurora Hall. Doors open at 8pm and curtain up at 8.30pm. The proceeds of the night will go to Longford Centre for Independent Living. The Drama Group wishes to thank everyone who helped out with the production this year and all those who supported. If you enjoyed it why not come along again and bring a friend for another great night of Drama.
Results of Legan GAA Lotto draw held on Monday, 31st March in Mitchell’s for a jackpot of €9,100. Numbers drawn were 5, 16, 17 and 19. There was no jackpot winner. Match three winners of €50 were Alice Green and Patsy Fitzmaurice. This week’s draw took place in Connaughton’s, Rathowen and results will be published next week.
Clothing Factory Reunion
Plans are underway for a re-union of all the people who worked in Ballymahon clothing factory, Claffey’s, Dubtex, Balman, Manford and Manford Direct. All past employees of these factories, together with their partners, families and friends are invited, and anyone who would like to attend on the night. The venue is the Rustic Inn, Abbeyshrule on Friday 25th April 2014 starting at 9.00pm sharp. All are welcome to join in the fun. Music will be provided by very popular and various artists follow by a disco with Michael Rooney. It promises to be a great night for all and with a chance for you to renew old acquaintances. There will be a Raffle and spot prizes on the night. Donation buckets will be at door and all proceeds will be donated to local charities.

An Easter Penance Service on Spy Wednesday, 16th April in St Mary’s Church, Legan at 8pm.
