The Longford branch of the Alzheimer Society of Ireland would like to announce that our church gate collection will be held on Saturday the 28th and Sunday 29th of September throughout the county. The money raised will greatly contribute to our continued services in the area. These include a home care service, a respite service, a transport service and a day care facility. All of these services are dedicated to respecting the right of people with Alzheimers’s disease and supporting their carers. Please give generously. On behalf of ourselves and those who cannot remember, thank you.
Engage Longford is an artists’ led, not for profit initiative that provides a platform to promote Longford as a hub for contemporary visual art. The exhibition was launched by John Waters writer and journalist. Frank Farrell gave a fabulous performance of stacking turf, a theme near to a lot of our hearts. Congrats to local artist Eimear Walshe who participated in the exhibition. It is well worth a visit, you can still do so weekdays 12.30 – 5.30pm and Sat/ Sun 12-6pm until Sept 29th. The venue is old providers building on Main St Longford upstairs. All welcome.
Congratulations and best wishes to Padraic Fannin, Corteen and Tara Lennon, Dublin on their recent engagement.
Deepest sympathy is extended to Finuala and Noel Jinks and family Clondra on the recent death of Finuala’s mother, Maureen Quinn Farnagh Hill, Longford. May she RIP.
