We would like to send our condolences to the family and friends of Jim Reid, Clooneagh, Bornacoola who died on Monday week last at the home of his daughter Marie. Jim was laid to rest in Cloonmorris cemetery on Thursday last. May he Rest in Peace.
Last August at the annual mass held in Cloonmorris Cemetery it was announced by the Cemetery Committee that the details of the graveyard were being surveyed and would be soon available online. The survey of the graveyard has been completed and has involved the numbering and mapping of each grave. This was done using a combination of GPS and eye mapping. A digital map of the graveyard has been compiled showing the number of each grave within the map. The map and the list of names have been displayed on a sign showing the map of the graveyard and the names listed in alphabetical order, showing the surname, first name, address, month and year of death and age at time of death together with the plot number. It has been a comprehensive recording of the details relating to Cloonmorris Graveyard well worth a visit online and is available for your viewing at www.irishgraveyards.ie Congratulations to all concerned in making this resource available.

Billy’s World Charity
The launch of Billy’s World charity is on Friday night 29th November in the Landmark Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon, commencing at 7.30pm. The charity is being set up by Tony Byrne, Carrick-on-Shannon, whose five year old son passed away earlier this year. The charity hopes to raise enough money in the future to open a holiday centre in Carrick-on-Shannon for special needs children and their families, the first of its kind in Ireland. This would be a huge economic boost for the local area and an amazing experience for disabled children and their families. A wonderful night on the 29th is guaranteed, with champagne reception, wonderful prizes and music by “Oddity”. Your support would be hugely appreciated. Contact Jenny Gilmartin on 087-2040700 or Patricia Guckian on 087-7410202 for tickets (€15 each) or if you wish to make a donation to this worthy charity.
