Mr and Mrs
We hope to stage a follow up to the Mock Wedding in January. We are holding a Mr and Mrs competition as a fundraiser in Crawford’s Bar on Saturday, 23 November at 9pm with local couples participating as well as a surprise celebrity couple. A prize for the winning couple and a raffle will be held on the night.
Your prayers are requested for the happy repose of the souls of Tessie Brady, Kilgarriff, Arva, who died on Wednesday, 6 November, Mary Flynn, Ipswich, England, formerly Colmcille Terrance, Granard who died on Friday, 8 November, Molly Hanlon, Ballinroey, Dring who died on Wednesday, 13 November, Mother of Marett Smith, Ballinacross and Mary Smith, Toneymore. Molly Hanlon and Tessie Brady were sisters. Your prayers are also requested for Larry Cunningham, Reneghan, who died on Saturday, 16 November. May they rest in peace.
Congratulations and warmest wishes to Áine and Terry Drake on the birth of their baby daughter recently. Maisie Lynn is a welcome sister for Annie and Norah. Also congratulations to Philip and Sharon Leavy, Derragh on the birth of their twin boys recently. May you all celebrate moments of togetherness and love with your newly found joys.

Senior Citizens Party
Annual Christmas Dinner will be held on 15 December 2013 in Crawford’s. A cake sale is being held on 23 and 24 November after all Masses to raise funds for this endeavour. Any offers to make something for the cake sale would be greatly appreciated (Contact Patricia 087 2930483). Thank you.
Country Markets Move
Patrons of the Country Markets in Granard are asked to please take note that the market has moved from the Community Centre and will now be held in Gerry Kiernan’s premises on upper Main Street (beside Kiernan’s butchers). The Markets start at 8.30 am and continue until 11.00 am. They are delighted to announce that they now have beautiful handmade children and baby wear along with the usual stock of scarves, cards, jewellery, bread, cakes, firewood, etc.
Your new box of envelopes for the Offertory and other collections will be available at Masses on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 November in both Churches. These new envelopes will come into use on Saturday 30 November & Sunday 1 December and continue until Saturday 22 & Sunday 23 November 2014.
An information officer from Co. Longford Citizens Information Service is available at Granard Area Action Group Office Main Street Granard each Thursday morning from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
Cnoc Mhuire Secondary School will have an Open Evening and Enrolment for September 2014 on Thursday, 28 November from 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm. At 7.00 pm there will be a presentation with the School Principal followed by a tour of the School.

Our upcoming production of ‘A Stolen Child’ directed by Mickey Kenny will take to the stage on Saturday 30 November, Sunday 1 December and Monday 2 December in Ennybegs Community Centre. Sale of Work
Rath Mhuire Resource Centre is having a Sale of Work/Pop up Shop on Friday 6 December in the Community Centre Granard starting at 9am. There will be a large range of items for sale and we already have collected many new and unused quality products so this would be the ideal opportunity to get that present for a great price. All proceeds from the sale will go to Rath Mhuire and Dolmen Services and we look forward to your support.

Parish Pastoral Council
The votes are now counted. The people who received the most votes are currently been contacted to request their consent to be part of the new Pastoral Council. Names of the Pastoral Council members will hopefully be available for publishing in next week’s notes.
The next Parish Draw takes place on Thursday 21 November in Carra at 8.30 pm after Holy Mass and Adoration. You are welcome to attend. Any monies due to the draw please hand in before the draw.

Granard Area Action Group will hold their annual Table Quiz in Fay’s Bar on Friday 22 November commencing at 9.00pm. Tables of 4 are €40. Valuable spot prizes. Refreshments will be served.
The organising committee wish to thank all who took part in and supported the recent Memorial walk/run. A grand total of €6,770 was raised and shared between Bothar and the local Apostolic Mission Society.

‘Work4You’ set up by Acquired Brain Injury Ireland provides a free vocational assessment service for individuals who have an acquired brain injury and would like assistance and guidance in returning to work, training or education. It is free to anyone with an acquired brain injury and in receipt of a payment from the Dept. of Social Protection.
