On Friday 22nd November 2013 at 8.00pm our Bishop will hold a Service of Thanksgiving and dedication of work done to the building during the past few months. This Service will be followed by refreshments in the Rectory. Everybody is warmly invited to join with us for this Service.

Panto Time

IT’S PANTO TIME AGAIN... oh no it isn’t., oh yes it is!! Students from Ballymahon Vocational School are getting ready to take on the Dickens classic, ‘Scrooge; A Christmas Carol’. The show will hit the stage in the Vocational School on December 4th, 5th and 6th. Doors open at 7:30p.m and show starts at 8:00 p.m. Adults €10. Children/Students /OAP €5. Prizes galore each night. Santa in The Green

Santa will be in The Green on Sunday 8th December 2013 from 2.00pm – 5.00pm. Music Raffle, Refreshments and Fun for all the Family.


Edgeworthstown Development are having a Christmas Raffle. First Prize is 50 Bales of Briquettes, 2Nd Prize is a luxurious Christmas Hamper. Lots of more prizes including Wine, Chocolates etc. Cards on sale in local shops. The money raised goes towards the running of The Green and the maintaining of the town and surrounding areas.

Mostrim Players

Mostrim Players present “A Night of Irish Comedy” 3 one act plays on 28th, 29th and 30th November 2013 in the Park House Hotel, Edgeworthstown. Doors open from 8pm curtain at 8.30pm. Admission is 10 euro and concessions are available at 8 euro. ‘Work4You’ set up by Acquired Brain Injury Ireland provides a free vocational assessment service for individuals who have an acquired brain injury and would like assistance and guidance in returning to work, training or education. It is free to anyone with an acquired brain injury and in receipt of a payment from the Dept. of Social Protection. If you are interested in the service or would like more information, Work4You are holding a Pop-Up Information Stand in Longford Library on Tuesday 26th November 2013 between 11am-1pm. Social dance

Edgeworthstown Active Retirement Social Dance in The Park House Hotel on Friday 22nd November. Music by J&S Sound. Admission €10. Spot prizes on the night. Tea and refreshments served.

Mostrim GAA

We are doing a scrap metal collection again in the coming weeks. Anyone with scrap to donate please contact Tony Garvey or any officer. No jackpot winner in the last Lotto draw. Numbers drawn were 10, 16, 20, 28. Twenty-five Euro winners were Ace Ventura c/o Alan Campbell, Frank Rooney, Paddy Rea, Aaron Gallagher. Nomination forms have been sent out by post or email. Defibrillator  training

Defibrillator Training night Monday 25th in the Green from 8pm for all defibrillator trained users. The new Defibrillator units are now located at the GAA Grounds, St. Mary’s Community Centre and The Green.
