CADG: The Carrickedmond/Abbeyshrule defibrillator group have decided to run one more course for interested people wanting to learn the skills of CPR. This class will take place in St Sinneachs hall Carrickedmond on Tuesday night May 28 commencing at 7.30pm. All people due to do their 90 day re-certification will be contacted with date and time for this class in the coming week. Rally and Auto Jumble: A very successful vintage rally and auto jumble took place in Newcastle house grounds on Sunday last. The organising would like to thank everyone for their support.
First Holy Communion: Pupils from St Sinneachs School Colehill will receive their First Holy Communion in Carrickedmond church on Saturday, May 18 at 11am. This special celebration will be lead by Fr Tiernan PP.
Death of Cllr Paddy Belton: All in the parish and surrounding areas were shocked and saddened when news broke on Thursday evening last of Kenagh county councillor Paddy Belton. Paddy who was only in his sixty sixth year was a well known councillor in the area and was always on hand to represented people from the area in any type of need. He enjoyed respect across the political divide. Paddy will be sadly missed by all who knew him but especially so by his brother Louis a former TD, sister Maureen, sister in law Mary, brother in law Val other relatives and friends to whom we extend our sincere sympathy. May he rest in peace.
Social Gathering: A special social gathering and mass will take place in St Sinneachs hall Carrickedmond on Wednesda, May 22 at 3pm. All senior citizens from the parish are invited to attend this parish event.
Sincere Sympathy: Sympathy is extended to the Keegan family Tenelick on the death of Nanny Keegan who passed away peacefully last weekend in St Joseph’s hospital Longford. To her brother Brian, sisters Mai and Rose we extend our sincere sympathies. Nanny’s remains were removed from St Josephs hospital chapel to Carrickedmond church and her burial took place to Abbeyshrule cemetery. May she rest in peace.
