Lacken Camogie

Lacken Camogie Club will hold a night of celebration with a social in the Millennium Bar Ballinagh on Friday December 6th and proceedings will get under way with Mass in St. Michael’s Church Potahee, full particulars in next weeks issue.

Victory

There was great jubilation in the town as the schoolboy footballers arrived home with the cup following their resounding victory over Killinkere in the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Division 2 Boys Football Final. All-in-all 2013 has been a fantastic year for football in Ballinagh with this latest schoolboy football championship coming just weeks following the victory of the town club in winning their first ever Cavan Senior County Championship. Congratulations to the players and mentors involved.

Vintage Club

Ballinagh and District Vintage Club meeting on Friday November 22nd at 9p.m in Cronins Lounge. The club wishes to thank everyone who supported their fundrasing events during 2013.

Camogie Collection

A church gate collection will be taken up outside all church gates following the masses on this weekend. We would like to ask everyone to support this excellent girls outdoor game.

Community Enterprise

Community Enterprise Association are holding a variety event in the Community Centre in Ballinagh on Friday 13th of December and a monster Christmas fair / car boot sale on Saturday 14th December. All proceeds are in aid of Flemings Folly restoration fund and your support would be greatly appreciated. Framed pictures of the Folly are on sale in the local shops and would make an ideal Christmas gift.

College Star

Congratulations to famed local player Ronan O’Reilly who gave an outstanding performance or St. Patrick’s College, Cavan who defeated St. Patricks College, Armagh in the Ulster College Senior Football Championship with Ronan scoring one goal and one point in the game.

Good wishes

Good wishes for further success in the Business Enterprise to Ciaran O’Reilly who has recently stepped down following three years as team manager of Ballinagh senior football Team whom this year he guided to the club’s first ever Senior County Football Championship.

Senior player

Congratulations to local star Niall McDermott who has been nominated for the award of Cavan Senior Player of the year for 2013 with the awards ceremony taking place in Hotel Kilmore on Friday November 22nd and to vote for Niall text CAVAN 101 to 57003 but please note that lines close on Wednesday 20th November at 12 noon. Niall has given sterling service to Ballinagh Club and Cavan Senior County Team and would be a most deserving recipient of this most coveted award.
