NEW BABY: Congratulations to Damien and Pauline Drake Tubber on the birth of their first child, a girl, born on May 1. The new arrival is to be named Jennifer Mary and she is a welcome grand daughter for Seamus and Una.

BIRTHDAY GREETINGS: Congratulations and best wishes for avery happy birthday to Mrs Brady Ballinascraw who is celebrating a very special birthday this week and also to Mary McElvaney Coolarty on her celebrations. We hope you have a great time ladies.

ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS: All roads lead to The Park House Hotel Edgeworthstown on Monday night next May 13 when Frank Kilbride and his staff will celebrate their 27th anniversary in the hotel.A host of Ireland’s top entertainers will be joining Frank on the night and this is a great opportunity to see big names like Mike Denver, Robert Mizzell, the legendary Philomena Begley, TR Dallas, Granard’s own Chuck and June, Dessie and Aishling Rynn, Dave and Blue Tax, Derek Davis, Pat Jennings and many more. BALLYMORE DRAW: The following were the winners of the Ballymore monthly draw held in McElvaney’s on Friday night last. €1,000 John Donohue Tully, while Stephanie Walker Kilcourcey, Ronan Shaughnessy Graffogue and Gerry Healy c/o Pat Lynch all won €100 each. The May Draw will be in Creegan’s.

SYMPATHY: Sincere sympathy is extended to Hugh McGovern and Family Carra on the death of Mrs Anna McGovern which occurred last week following an illness, also to the McNerney and Condron families on the death of Petie McNerney Bracklin and to the family and friends and neighbours of Ita Burns Ballinagal who was laid to rest in Granardkille on Tuesday. May they rest in peace.

FUNDRAISER: Ballymore/Granard under 14s are going to Feile in Derry and are having a car wash in the Mart car park on this Saturday and Sunday, May 11 & 12. Please come along, have your car washed and support the youngsters.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION: Congratulations to Eileen Boyle, Megan Sammon, Aaron Smyth and Charlotte McDonagh from St Gusacht’s in Bunlahy and John Kelly and Shane Dempsey from St Patrick’s in Muckerstaff (Killeen) who received their First Holy Communion at a lovely ceremony in St Mary’s church in Granard on Saturday last. We also congratulate young Jack Dempsey from Coolarty who was among all the communicants from the parish. All the children looked lovely and well done to their parents and teachers and of course to Fr Simon and Fr Tom.

ENGAGEMENT: Congratulations to Liam Reilly son of Sean and Bridgie from Gelsha and Caroline Mee who have announced their engagement recently. We join with both families and your many friends in wishing you the very best with your future plans.
