COADING FOR KIDS FOR FREE: We are setting up a free coading for kids classes in Ballinamore. Coading is a way you build websites, computer games and apps. It is very useful for kids and adults alike. Coder Dojo is the organisation world wide who want to teach kids to code for free. All the information is here www.coderdojo.com. There are over fifty coderdojo in Ireland. Today we need adults and kids to email us to see if we have enough interest. We intend to have one every Saturday for one or two hours. This is open to all kids in the Leitrim, Cavan , Longford and Fermanagh areas. CAIRDRE LIATROIM: Cairdre Liatroim is holding a fund raising dance in aid of people with special needs with TR Dallas Mickey Clerkin and Sean McAloon in the Bush Hotel Carrick on Shannon on this Thursday 9th May at 8pm. Cairdre Leitrim is a social club which supplies support for people with special needs. Your attendance would be appreciated.

MOHILL BRIDGE CLUB: The results on the 1st May last are as follows 1st Kay Dolan – Mary Scollan; 2nd Dorothy O’Connor Marie Walpole; 3rd Frankie Duignan Oliver Shanley; 4th Bella Wrynn – Peggy Logan. This Wednesday 8th May is competition night with party night here in Js on Wed 15th May. Play commences at 7.45pm. Wishing all our players good luck in the competitions.

MOHILL GAA LOTTO: The numbers drawn on the 29th April 2, 11,13,30. There was no jackpot winner. The draw on Tuesday night 7th May was held in John James Glebe Street with the jackpot at 13300 euro. Thanking you for your support. Congratulations to Leitrim GAA team who were victorious in New York on Sunday last. It was a momentous day, a real Gala occasion for all the Leitrim followers who thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Up Leitrim, keep up the good work.

THE GATHERING: Last weekend’s very successful Percy French Party was a great success , thanks to the hard work of Tish Dunleavy, Frank Cadam and their team of workers. Every night we were treated to great entertainment,some home grown, some from the county Down. We now look forward to the Mohill GAA Gathering on the June Bank holiday weekend. All past players at home and abroad have been contacted, hopefully we have included everyone. We will also entertain a team from Manchester – no not United – but better again St Lawrences from that great city. There will be underage and overage football, fun racing and fun football, a buffet in J’s Hotel. Then finally on Sunday evening there will be a variety concert hosted by our own Katherine Lynch. The concert will include local singers Edel Palmer,Ronan Gallagher and Katherine. Hip Hop dancing, Irish dancing and drama by the local Acorn and Junior Acorn players.

SOCIAL DANCING: Social dancing this Thursday night 9th May in J’s Hotel. Come and dance your cares away to the music of Curtis McGee. Doors open at 9.30pm.Licenced bar, door raffle. Refreshments served. Come and enjoy.

IT IS A GIRL: Our warmest congratulations to Paul and Stacy McLoughlin on the birth of their lovely baby girl Ella born last week. We all wish this bundle of joy a life filled with love and every blessing now and in the years to come.

DIABETES IRELAND: The Leitrim branch and diabetes Ireland invite you to a public information meeting on this Wednesday 1st May to the Ramada Hotel Drumshanbo at 8pm. Guest speaker will be Dr Wilma Lourens, consultant diabetologist, Sligo General Hospital. Topic prevention and reversal of type 2 diabetes changing the concept of diet for type 1 and 2 diabetes. There will be a range of stands to visit featuring related products. On Sunday 12th May to the Leitrim branch are holding their annual sponsored walk from Annaduff church at 12 noon. MOHILL AND DISTRICT AC: Church gate collection . A big thank you to all who contributed so generously to our annual church gate collection which was held at all masses recently. The committee and parents are very grateful to all who have donated to our Athletic Club. We will now be in a position to purchase some equipment for our juvenile athletes. Also thank you to all who volunteered themselves to help out on the collections on both days. Training now on Monday 6-7pm and Friday 4.30 – 5.30pm at GAA grounds.
