KILLOE COMMUNITY GAMEs: The 40th Anniversary Gala Awards/Hall of Fame takes place in The Stag’s Head, Ballinalee on June 7. Anyone interested in taking out advertisement for same, please contact 087 9436097. The U-12 Girls Gaelic Team recently played Dromard who proved to be the stronger team in the end. Hard luck girls – well done on representing Killoe. Thanks to Gerry Rowley and Michelle Tully for managing and training the team. Our U13 and U11 Girls (Killoe A) Basketball teams played matches recently. Both teams were unlucky to lose. Hard luck girls – well done on representing Killoe. Many thanks to Aisling Conway and Lorraine Linnane for managing and training the teams. The Girls U-12 soccer will be played on Tuesday, May 14. Best of luck girls.

TEA DAY: Alzheimers Society of Ireland fundraising tea day is on May 15th Wednesday from 10-12pm in the Stags Head. Please support.

COMMEMORATION: The date for the unveiling of the monument to Sean MacEoin and the members of the North Longford Flying Column is fixed for Sunday June 16th at 2pm. A number of other events will also take place over the weekend including an exhibition in the local hall on Friday and Saturday.

SPRING CLEAN WEEK: We are looking for volunteers to help with Spring Clean week to collect litter on all approach roads to the village. Contact myself for bags, pickers etc.

THOMAS ASHE HALL: Work continues on the refurbishment of our parish hall which is due to be complete in time for Holy Confirmation. The committee are fundraising for funds to compete the works. We are asking if people would sponsor an insulation board for 25 euro. A plaque with all the names of people/ families who donate will be erected inside the hall. We appeal for your support.
