Charity car wash

Charity car wash

Castlepollard Fire & Rescue Service would like to thank all those who helped, donated or assisted with their Charity Car Wash on the Square, Castlepollard, on Saturday, August 31st. The car wash was organised in aid of two local charities, North Westmeath Hospice and Coole Active Age Group. A total of two thousand euros was raised on the day, and firefighters and volunteers were on the Square from just after 10.00am until nearly 4.00pm, washing cars, vans, 4x4’s and anything else which came through for washing in aid of two very deserving local charities.

Local householders and businesses are urged to remain vigilant in light of a spate of burglaries and attempted burglaries, often in broad daylight, which have occured in the area recently. Make a note of any suspicious vehicles or individuals, particularly details such as registration numbers, physical descriptions etc., and contact the Gardai and family, friends and neighbours immediately to make them aware of your suspicions. The greatest assets we have are vigilance and communications, and if we use them wisely we can send a clear message to would-be wrongdoers.
