Streete Parish Park Bingo continues at 8.30p.m. each Monday night with the main jackpot currently at €20,000 in 42 calls or less for a full house on Game 5. Last week after two lines were filled there were still 17 calls left to reach 42, but nobody succeeded which means the jackpot remains at €20,000. Someone will be lucky yet!! We thank all our regulars for their wonderful continuous support which no doubt will hopefully continue. Best of luck to all and remember we pay out a minimum of over €2,000 each Monday night regardless. We also have a raffle after Game 9 and shop and tea is available at half time so why not come along for a night’s fun.

Now that the long nights are on their way our Streete Sports Complex Hall is available for 5 a side soccer, badminton, table tennis etc. etc. subject to advance booking with Declan on 087 9287129.

After their August break The Ramblers eased their way back into a new walking year with a gentle stroll along the Royal Canal near Ballynacargy on Sunday September 1st. There was a touch of autumn in the cool breeze but the sun was warm in any sheltered spots. A heron flew away along the canal at one point, showing off its great wingspan and back on the surface of the water there were still quite a few yellow flowers on the waterlilies. The walkers also passed a garden full of beautiful flowers beside a well-kept lock-keeper’s cottage. The Ramblers will visit the beautiful village of Abbeyshrule on Sunday September 15th. Cars will leave Boherquill at 1.30pm and meet at the church in Abbeyshrule at 2pm.
