The late Sean McGuinness an appreciation
Mohill St Vincent de Paul would like to acknowledge the great work done by former president Sean McGuinness who sadly died last July. Sean attended his first meeting on Sunday 19th March 1989 and his last meeting 28th May 2013. In those 24 years of dedicated service to his local community Sean worked tirelessly to help those in this area who found themselves in difficult circumstances. Sean was the ideal St V de Paul volunteer in many respects. He treated everyone he met with the same respect and courtesy. He was never judgemental and always empathised with the circumstances that led to the difficulties people experienced. He worked tirelessly to ensure that the conference survived . When numbers fell a few years ago, he along with president Tony O’Reilly and Sect JJ O’Rourke ensured that there were enough recruits to carry the conference into a new era. He played a huge part in ensuring that there is an active St V de Paul conference in Mohill and that many people in the parish and surrounding areas will benefit from their great work. Our sympathies are with his wife Tess and family at this sad time. May he rest in peace. Ar deis lamh De, go raibh a anam dilis.
