NEW BOOK: This Inspirational Book by Inez McPadden who was originally O’Callaghan from Drumshanbo has been on sale online for some weeks and getting great feedback , now begins its publicity campaign in Ireland, America and Canada. It will be launched in Mulvey’s Carrick on Shannon on Saturday 9th March next. It would make a lovely gift and a joy to read.
IHCPT COLLECTION: The annual Church gate collection in aid of IHCPT – The Irish Pilgrimage Trust will be held at both Eslin and Gorvagh Churches this weekend March 2nd and 3rd.The Trust bring young people from all over to Lourdes on a special pilgrimage at Easter. The collection will also be held at all churches in the Mohill area, except Mohill town itself where that collection will be on April 6th and 7th.
MOHILL GAA LOTTO RESULTS: The numbers drawn on the 18th February last are 7,9,13,30. There was no jackpot winners. TOM MORAN: The death of Tom Moran formerly from Drumrahill Mohill who died in London and whose interment of ashes took place in Mohill cemetery following requiem mass in St Patricks Church is deeply mourned by his cousins and all who miss him at this sad time. Sonny as he was affectionately known worked for English Rail. He was a very nice unassuming gentleman who was highly respected by all who knew him and admired his Irish wit and loyalty . Our sympathies are with his cousins and many friends. May he rest in peace.
SYMPATHY: The people of Mohill wish to join with me in sympathising with Gene Baxter on the death of his aunt Mary Moran, late of Treanmore whose funeral took place in Drumreilly last week. We all remember Mary as a very nice kind lady whom we loved to meet. She will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered.
NELLIE FOLEY (BEIRNE): It was with regret we learned of the death of Nellie Foley,Dromard Mohill who died in the tender care of the doctors nurses and staff at Lough Errill Nursing home, Mohill on the 12th February 2013. She was predeceased by her husband Jimmy and son Aiden many years ago RIP. Nellie was a lady of deep faith who loved her family. It was always a pleasure to meet her. She never forget her Roscommon roots and her stories from yesteryear were a delight to listen to. Her removal to St Patricks Church took place on Ash Wednesday and was very well attended as was her requiem mass on Thursday followed by burial in Cloone cemetery. Our sympathies are with her daughter Marie, sons Cathal and Seamus, daughters in law son in law,grandchildren,nephews, nieces their extended families and all who mourn Nellie at this sad time.
BARTLEY BOHAN : The death of Bartley Bohan , Drumsna at Sligo General Hospital on the 7th February 2013 has caused widespread regret in the community. Sadly his dear wife Mary died many years ago RIP. Bartley an ex CIE employee was a gentleman who was held in the highest esteem by management and workmates alike. He has a great personality and was an active member of the community. A loving brother and uncle who will be sadly missed but remembered with love. His removal to the Church of the Immaculate Conception ,Drumsna, his requiem mass and funeral to Mohill cemetery was very largely attended which was indeed a tribute to the popularity of Bartley, his brothers Martin and Jim, sisters Mary, Bridie and Anna, nephews and nieces to whom we also offer our deepest sympathy.
SEAN WARD: There was widespread regret on hearing of the death of Sean Ward Rosharry who died in the loving care of the doctors, nurses and staff at St John’s Hospital, Sligo on the 11th Feb 2013.Sean loved working on the land . He was a very caring devoted brother and uncle, a most obliging neighbour and despite his illness was an inspiration to all who knew him. His death will be mourned by family and many friends. His removal took place to St Patricks Church Mohill and was representative of all sections of the community as was his con-celebrated mas which was a celebration of Sean’s life and at which the lovely music added to the solemnity of this sad occasion. Our sympathies are with his brothers Mike Joe Seamus , sisters Kathleen Moire, sons in law, daughter in law nephews nieces and family circle.
