SENIOR CITIZENS PARTY: The annual senior citizens Christmas party will be held in Lus Na Greine on this Sunday December 16th starting at 1 o-clock and all senior citizens from Granard Mullinalaghta and Abbylara are invited to attend.A full Christmas dinner will be served and there will be plenty of music and dancing so come along and enjoy the evening.

SYMPATHY: Sincere sympathy is extended to Mrs.Anna McGerr and family Kilfintan on the death of Owen which occurred last week following an illness.May he rest in peace.

SYMPATHY: Deepest and sincere sympathy is offered to Aisling and David Reynolds Bunlahy on the death of Aisling’s grandmother Mrs. Conway Ballygarve Killoe which occurred last week.We also offer sympathy to her Son Noel in Ballygarve and to the extended Conway family at this sad time. BRING AND BUY SALE: Lus Na Greine will host their annual Bring and Buy sale in John Donoghue’s premises (formerly E N R store)on Thursday 13th and Friday December from 10am to 3-00pm and on Saturday 15th from 11 to 2pm.Plenty of bargains and we welcome any items in good condition. Please support. We will end the event with a short auction.All proceeds will be spent within the community.

Granard Community Enterprise: Purchase of NAMA property. Our next monthly meeting takes place in the Community Centre, Barrack St. on Tuesday night next, Dec. 18th at 8pm sharp. Our feasibility study is ongoing and hopefully we will have an update on this. The monthly club draws for Nov. and Dec. will also be held at the meeting. All are welcome.

Midland Retired Sec.Teachers Assoc: Thursday Dec.13th kick off with bowling in Longford Megabowl at 12:30pm for an hour. A rep.of Longford Volunteer Centre will then give short talk followed by lunch in The Aubergine, Longford at 2:30pm. You are welcome to just join us for lunch and as always friends and family most welcome. However I would need to know numbers for bowling and lunch to book.
