Community Games: We would like to say well done to our Basketball teams who took part in the basketball competition last weekend. They were our under 13 girls and under 13 boys and our under 11 boys. We would also like to thank our coaches who gave up their time to coach our teams these were Aoife, Geraldine and Tyrone. Outdoor training will commence this Friday evening in the football pitch from 6 - 7pm. We hope to see a good good turnout for this training. Could all sponsorship cards be returned ASAP to any member of the committee. The Date for the county finals is Sunday the 9th June in Ballymahon. Car Boot Sale: Legan Parents Association is holding a Car Boot Sale on Sunday next 21st April starting at 12.00pm in Legan GAA grounds. All proceeds go towards Legan National School. For more information ring 087 6727850.
Race Night: Legan Tidy Towns’ is holding a fundraiser with “A Night at the Dogs”in Longford Greyhound Track on this Friday night 19th April. A free bus will leave Legan at 7.00pm for those with tickets for the event. Please support and enjoy a great night.
Inny Anglers: Results of Inny Anglers Lotto draw held on 5th April for a jackpot of £1,900. Numbers drawn were 1, 9, 18 and 27. There was no jackpot winner. Special draw winners were Marcella Donnelly and Anna, Ciara and Zoe. Results of draw held on 12th April in Slowey’s. Numbers drawn were 3, 7, 14 and 19. There was no jackpot winner. Special draw winners were Jimmy Doherty and Lily Boyce.
GAA: Results of GAA Lotto draw held on Monday 13 Th.. April in Connaughton’s Rathowen, for a jackpot of £6,500. Numbers drawn were 2, 5, 19 and 30. There was no jackpot winner. Match three winners of £50 were TJ Moran and Brigid Boylan. This week’s draw was held in Slowey’s and results will be published next week.
Community Alert Meeting: Ardagh and Ballycloghan Community Alert committee are holding a meeting in Ardagh Community Centre in relation to crime prevention in our homes and farms. Sergeant McDermott, Crime Prevention Officer will address the meeting.

Legan Tidy Towns: Legan Tidy Towns committee appeals for willing volunteers to join them in the Car-park this evening Wednesday 17th April at 7.00pm and work for one hour on projects in the village.
Glee Club: Local Glee Club (singing,dancing and acting for children) is looking for a volunteer to help out with weekly clubs. The suitable person would need to be energetic and enthusiastic to learn about and be involved in children’s performance/staging. This would be a great learning opportunity for any young person interested in working with children and who has a passion for singing, dancing, drama and all!
Walking Club: This Saturday April 20th the local Walking Club will meet in Ballycloghan at 10.00am for their weekly walk. New members welcome.
St Christopher’s Meeting: Legan Branch of St Christopher’s will hold a meeting on Friday night April 26th at 9.30pm in Milly’s Cottage. All members are requested to attend. New members are always welcome.
ICA: Longford Federation ICA is hosting an information evening in the 98’ Hall, Ballinamuck on Thursday April 25th at 7.30pm. Laura Shaw from Longford Garden Centre will attend. Her topics include Lawn Care, Colour with Perennials and maintaining your Rose Garden, followed by a questions and answer session. During the second half of the evening Garry Brady, Environmental Officer with Longford County Council will talk about How to use “Leftovers and Food Wastage” as part of the Food Wastage Programme. Tea and refreshments will be served and a raffle will be held. Admission is £5.00. Everyone welcome.
