Table Quiz: A table quiz will be held on Friday 19th April in aid of Leebeen Park Development. There will be plenty of craic on the night with cash and spot prizes. The quiz will be held in Murtagh’s Lounge, Aughnacliffe at 9.30pm. This is Leebeen Park Development’s only fundraiser during the year so all support will be most welcome.

Longford Federation ICA: The above are hosting an Information Evening in the ‘98 Hall, Ballinamuck, on Thursday April 25th at 7.30pm. Laura Shaw from Longford Garden Centre will attend. Her topics include, Lawn Care, Colour with Perennials and Maintaining your Rose Garden, followed by a Question and Answer session. During the second part of the evening Garry Brady, Environmental Officer with Longford County Council will talk to us about ‘How to use Leftovers’ and ‘Food Wastage’ as part of the “Food Wastage Programme.” Tea and refreshments will be served. A Raffle will be held. Admission €5. Everyone welcome.

G.A.A. Lotto: There was no winner of the April 8th lotto draw. The numbers drawn were 8, 19, 28 and 29. €20 lucky dip winners were Barry Mulligan, Madge Mc Loughlin, J. O’Neill and Cathal Lee. Envelops are available from all local outlets.

Hit & Miss Golf Society: The Hit & Miss Golf Society held their last outing at Esker Hills Golf club. It was an early start and it was great to see so many members on time. The golf course was in great condition and the greens were a tester for our professional golfers. The winner on the day was Dinny Maguire, Category Winners were; Larry Cosgrove, Pat Grant, Nearest the Pin; Michael Walsh. Our next outing takes place in Athlone Golf Club on 20th April: Tee Off Time is 11am. Please be in the club house at 10.30am. New members welcome.

C.A.D.G: On Saturday 13th March Seamus Murtagh played Find the Joker but the Joker remains in hiding, hard luck Seamus. Seamus gets €50 as consolation. Next week Bridget Reilly Cornadrung will be playing for the jackpot of €555, good luck to her. Envelopes on sale for €2 each in local shops and Murtagh’s pub. All support is greatly appreciated.
