ANNUAL RUN: The Tesco annual 5km run or walk will be held in the Mall complex on Sunday 21 October 2012 at 11am.Registration from 9.30am on the day. All participants will receive a unique race medal. Entry fee is 10 euro with proceeds in aid of Aware. Everyone is very welcome. Refreshments will be served.

BINGO: Musical bingo every Saturday night in PV Fallons Red Room at 8.30pm. All proceeds in aid of the Carers Association. Everyone is very welcome.

GAA: The parish extend good luck to the Emmet Og footballers and mentors who meet the Slashers football team in the county final at Pearse Park Longford this weekend. PROGRESSIVE 25: Cullyfad progressive 25 started on Mon night last. We had 5 tables. Winners on the night were Jimmy Cahill; Eamon Casey and Larry Diffley. Card games continue on each Monday starting 8.30. Bingo each Wed night , why not come along and try your luck at winning some money. Spin the wheel is now at 850 euro. Drama time. With all the actors now in the parish and quite a few from the Cullyfad end,would some of you now produce a 3 act play up this end and revive the old group that was here some years ago. There are two people from Cullyfad interested. If you have any thoughts on same please ring 086 8171084 for chat about same. The choir is back in Cullyfad Church after the summer break and have moved up on the Gallery that will leave more room in the Church. The restoration of stone wall is ongoing around the centre and is now well advanced. The bad weather stops progress.

Cilleo Yew Tree Players: Our drama group is busy at this time preparing for the upcoming One Act productions. We held a very successful AGM on Tuesday 2nd October. We wish to thank all outgoing officers for their hard work during the year and best wishes to our new officers for the year ahead. Cullyfad Community Alert Group: Have registered for the installation of Personal Monitored Alarms under the Seniors Alert Scheme. The scheme only covers the purchase and installation of an alarm.The monitoring yearly fee is not covered by the scheme and must be paid by each individual alarm holder. The monitoring fee is in the region of €70 per year. Eligibility is based on the following criteria: Age 65 years or older: Living Alone or living with other eligible person, Live within the Community Alert Group catchment area, Aware of monitoring costs, Grant assistance is NOT available for people under 65 or for older persons living with family members. Table Quiz: In aid of Cullyfad Defibrillator Project.will be held in Cullyfad Community Centre on Friday night Oct 19th at 8.30 pm. Table of 4 cost €40. Good prize for winner. This is 4 Defibrillators have been erected in the catchment area. Cullyfad Community Centre, John Hagan’s (Killoe Post Office,) Rhyne, Conal O’Reilly’s Newtownbond and Corboy (Quinn’s) Crossroads.
