Solas Art Gallery: The exhibition is a solo exhibition by well known local artist Colleen Quinn. If you can’t make it along for the opening night, be sure to drop into the gallery at some stage before this exhibition closes on October 13th. ATHLETIC CLUB: Winter training has resumed in the Sports Hall after the summer break and for the month of October it takes place Tuesday and Thursday from 7.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. and not as previously advertised.

RehabCare: RehabCare Ballinamore would like to thank everyone who contributed to our recent church gate collection. The total amount raised was €544.79. We would also like to thank volunteers who organised the collection. It was much appreciated.

Recycle & Support : The Parent’s Association are organising a Used Clothes/Mobile Phone collection on Thursday 25th October 2012. Clothes/Stuffed Toys/Shoes/Belts/Handbags/Household Textiles are all required. Due to the fact that it is the Parent’s Association who are organising this collection, we will only be able to accept the bags on Wednesday 24th Oct. (7.00 p.m. – 8.00 p.m.) and Thursday morning 25th Oct. (9.00 a.m. – 10.15 a.m.) in the P.E. Room, Senior Girls School. We would appreciate your support.

A Sean Mac Diarmada Film: A film based on Sean Mac Diarmada and the 1916 Rising is currently being written by the filmmaker Kevin McCann and author Gerard MacAtasney (Supported by Leitrim County Library). A public consultation event to discuss this writing project will take place in Ballinamore Library on Thursday evening 11th October at 6.30pm. All members of the public are invited to attend. Admission is free. Please come along to share views and ideas.

Blazers Basketball Club: Basketball is starting back again Friday the 12th of October in Ballinamore Sports Complex. With trainings for 5th and 6th class boys at 4pm, U10 girls at 5pm, U12 girls at 6pm and U14 girls at 7pm. All welcome to come along on the night.

Irish Kidney Association: The amount collected at the recent Kidney Association Church Gate Collection came to €1,070. Thanks to all those who contributed and those who collected.

Hospice Coffee Morning: A big thanks you to all those who contributed to our recent coffee morning which raised a total of €1,000. Special thanks also to those who baked and helped out on the morning. Brig McGourty.

Irish language Classes for Beginners: Many people who never learned Irish at school have been looking for a class where you can learn Irish from scratch. Well the good news is that Ballinamore Library will be starting an Irish class for beginners on Tuesday next 16 October at 7.00pm. This class is aimed at people who were at a school where Irish wasn’t taught at all or people who came to Ireland and started school in a higher class, too late to learn Irish. If you would like to attend please ring Ballinamore Library at 071 9645566 and register your interest. There is no charge for attendance.
