MRS BRIDGET SMITH: There was widespread regret with the news of the death at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda of Mrs Bridgie Rose (Bridget)Smith Gortahurk Ballinagh and formerly of Denbawn Carrickaboy. A member of the highly respected Sullivan family Brigie Rose as she was known to her countless friends was an extremely kind and friendly lady.
Always with a warm and friendly smile deceased was of a kind nature and was charitable to any person indeed. A lady with a deep religious faith Bridget was a good and helpful neighbour whose passing from our community is widely mourned. Predeceased by her husband Con she is survived by her sons Seamus and Turlough, daughters Anne Mary Patricia and Carmel,grandchildren sons in law daughters in law brothers in law sisters in law nephews nieces extended family relatives neighbours and many friends. There was a very large attendance at the removal of the remains from her home to St Felims Church Balliagh and again at the funeral which was evidence of the esteem with which the deceased and her family were held within the region took place following requiem mass to the family burial ground. Rev Peter Casey PO Kilmore officiated . To her family I extend the sympathy of our community.
MRS ALICE GAYNOR: There was widespread sadness at the news of the passing from this life of Mrs Alice Gaynor, Garymore Ballinagh. A member of the most respected Sheridan family Alice was a quiet and most inoffensive lady who was held in high esteem by all who were privileged to have known her. Deceased was blessed with a truly Christian faith being charitable and helpful to any person in need of assistance. A kind neighbour and friend to everyone her passing has invoked widespread sorrow. Predeceased by her husband Pearse and daughter Mary she is survived by her son Michael,daughters Kathleen Collete Freda and Frances, grandchildren sister Mae,brother in law Thomas sons in law grand daughter extended family neighbours and countless friends to whom I extend the sympathy of our community. There was a very large attendance at the removal of her remains to St Felims Church Ballinagh on Thursday evening which bore ample testimony of the esteem with which the family are held with funeral on Friday morning taking place following con-celebrated mass to the family burial ground in the adjoining cemetery. Very Rev Sean McDermott PP Ballintemple was chief celebrant with con-celebrants Rev Michael Quinn PP Crosserlough and Rev Peter Casey PP Kilmore.
