COMMUNITY GAMES: - We would like to thank all who supported our recent sponsor walk. 
On Wednesday evening last in Kenagh our U13 Girls won their SF Basketball game against Killoe, 15-12. The team was Aimee Higgins, Grace Keegan, Kate Breslin, Jodie McCormack, Ciara Mulligan, Grace Esler, Ellen Shannon, Juliette Byrne, Orla Farrell and Niamh Dempsey. They now go on to play Longford North in the Final. Thank you to their coaches Michelle Mulvey, Emer Esler and Ellen Byrne. We are holding our Annual Sports Day on Sunday 28th April at 5pm in the GAA pitch. This is for all children from the parish up to the age of U16. This is a family day out in the parish, come out and support.

Who wants to be a Thousandaire: A great night was had by all who attended the Carrickedmond GAA club’s “Who wants to be a Thousandaire” fundraising night which took place in the Rustic-Inn Abbeyshrule on Saturday night last. This event which was run in conjunction with “Pallas Marketing Group” turned out to be a very successful event and fundraiser for the local GAA club. A great crowd attended and all enjoyed the show with eight contestants been picked from a draw drum to take part in the game show which had a total prize fund of €1000 per round. The eight lucky people who were selected to play on the night were Larry Bannon Legan, Eugene Farrell Curreachean, Colm Murray Kenagh representing Mike Farrell Ballymahon, Paul Mc Guire Carrickedmond representing Damian McHugh Carrickboy, Ann Mills Abbeyshrule, Joe Mc Cormack Colehill representing Jane Abbot Abbeyshrule, Sharon Hogan Keel representing her mum Margaret Hogan Keel, and Freda White Tenelick. Each of the contestants won prize money varying from €50 to €500 on the night. Well done to all from the club and committee who put a lot of hard work into organising. All money raised will go towards the upkeep of the GAA complex, grounds and pitch.

CADG: Two year re-certification for the next group from the parish will take place in St Sinneachs hall Carrickedmond on Tuesday night next the 30th April. All concerned will be contacted this week by text. When contacted please confirm with Anthony Green at 086-3993933 your attendance.

Bon Voyage: To Nicolla Butler Abbeyshrule daughter of Philip and Helen Butler who returned to Pert in Australia on Sunday last following her holiday break with her parents in Abbeyshrule. It was great to see Nicolla enjoying holiday time with her family and looking so well. Hopefully Nicolla got back to her place of residence safe and sound.

Table Quiz: Longford harvest festival group will hold a table quiz in the Peer Inn Lisnacusha on this Friday night the 26th April commencing at 9pm. All proceeds will go towards St Christophers Longford. Please support.

Carrickedmond PTAA: The local pioneer group have planned a trip to the Titanic Exhibition in Belfast which will take place on Sunday the 30th June. Fees for the bus and entry to the exhibition will cost as follows: Adults €30, children under sixteen €23 and children under five €12.50. If you are interested in travelling on this trip money and names must be given to any of the following no later than Sunday next the 28th April. Sincere Sympathy: Is extended to Joe Farrell Abbeyderg on the recent death of his mother Margaret Farrell and to Mary Mc Grath Park-Place on the recent death of her cousin Annie Donegan. May they rest in peace.

GAA: Hard luck to the local senior team who were defeated by Rathcline in the league on Saturday evening last. The junior team recorded a great win over Dromard in the junior league also played last weekend.
