The Indoor Soccer qualifiers and finals took place on Saturday the 26th and Sunday the 27th January last in Kenagh. Killoe were represented by three teams. Despite putting in a good performance, the Boys U13 team were unfortunate to be knocked out in their game against Clonbroney, who went on to win the County Final. Well done to team members – Shane Igoe, James Moran, Cian Dooner, Eoin Walsh, Enda Bracken, Reece Reid Leonard, Evan Farrelly and Euan Finneran and many thanks to Martina Igoe who trained the team. The Boys U10 team won their qualifier against Lanesboro but were then beaten in the next round by Longford South, who went on to win the final. Well done to the lads on the team for the great effort they put into their games, Joe Morrissey, Gavin Farrelly, Oisin McManus, Colm Coyle, Cian Leonard, Shane Dooner, Jack Finneran and Jack Reichert and many thanks to David Donnelly and Brian Finneran who trained and managed the team. Last but by no means least, the Girls U13 team took part in what was probably the most exciting game of the weekend, when they took on Carrickedmond in the semi-final. Both teams were very well matched, with a nil-all draw when the full-time whistle blew. This was followed by extra time and penalties, and still no winner for the match. Sudden death was the unfortunate decider for the end result, with Killoe losing out to Carrickedmond. Well done to all the girls for providing such great entertainment and battling it out to the last, Molly Clarke, Aishling Morrissey, Emily McCarthy, Emma Jane Gilna, Anna Moorhead, Aoife Sheridan, Orla Macken and Niamh Brady. Many thanks to Paul McCarthy for training and managing the team. Well done to all three teams and hopefully we’ll see you back again next year for Indoor Soccer.
