FUNDRAISING: Mohill GAA Club fundraising. The club members are doing a great job at the moment fundraising. Pillars are still available and they are making a big push in the coming weeks to ensure they are in place. The proposal is that each sponsor would erect and affix permanently a plaque in their name to the steel uprights on the security fence.
The cost is 100 euro per plaque. There are a limited number available 110 in total. CPR TRAINNG: The list of people in the Mohill area who are certified to use a cardiac defibrillator is now being updated. If you wish to be on the new list, you will need an updated cert. SWEET UPLIFTING EVENT: Take your mind off all the doom and gloom and come along and join with the Leitrim based Sweet Spirit Gospel choir. The Hunt School Choir, the Kilmore Cathedral Choir, not forgetting noted soloist Lorraine Vance for an evening of uplifting music and song on this Friday 25th May in St Marys Church of Ireland Lr Main St Mohill at 8.30pm sharp. The Sweet Spirit Gospel choir and Hunt School Choir is under the direction of Tish Dunleavy the Kilmore Cathedral Choir is under the direction of Dean Raymond Ferguson. ROAD RACE: Leitrim Open 5K Women’s Road race takes place next Sunday 27th may at 2pm in Ballinamore. This will be Leitrim women’s first inaugural 5K open race. MEMORIAL DARTS TOURNAMENT: On this Friday night 25th May the Michael Sheridan Memorial Dart Tournament will take place in Cusack’s, Main Street commencing at 9pm . All local dart players welcome. Refreshments served on the night. Come and bring a friend.
IRISH CANCER SOCIETY: a big thank you to all who contributed to the recent church gate collection for cancer. The amount collected was 515 euro for which the Irish cancer society are very grateful.
LEITRIM GUARDIAN: The annual general meeting of the Leitrim Guardian will be held in Berry’s tavern Drumshanbo on Monday 28th May at 9pm. The committee would welcome new members to help carry on the tradition which has to date published forty four editions of the magazine. Please feel free to come along and find out what is involved. The editor of the Leitrim Guardian Mohill native Dr Blaithin Gallagher says ‘that she feels it is a honour to be able to contribute in any small way this community effort’. ICA NEWS: The walk for breast cancer research was a great success. Thanks to everyone who took part and helped out on the day. The Leitrim Federation meeting will take place on Wednesday 30th May at 8pm. STUDENTS DOING EXAMS: There will be a students’ day of prayer in St Patricks Church Mohill on Thursday 31st May for all students doing exams. The 10am mass will be offered for them and Eucharistic Adoration will continue all day until 10pm. You are all welcome to come and make a visit.
