GROUP WATER SCHEME: At a meeting of Legan Group Water scheme committee which was held in the GAA Clubhouse the committee discussed the proposal by Longford County council regarding the take over of rural group water schemes. The committee decided to endorse this proposal provided the majority of the members of the scheme agree. Following on from this a representative of the scheme will visit members to seek approval in the coming weeks.
ST PATRICKS DAY: The traditional St Patricks Ceili and old time dance takes place on Saturday night in the Aurora Hall Legan. The old favourites Davy Joe and Carousel will provide the music from 10 -1am. Admission is 10 euro. This year there is an extra dimension with presentation to local man Pat Boyce who celebrates his 70th birthday supper and party cake will be served.
SYMPATHY: We extend our sincere sympathy to Nora and Seamus Walsh and family Clygeen on the sudden death of their son James in England last week. We also extend sympathy to the family and relatives of Oliver Eivers late of Ballyglasson whose untimely death occurred in Ardfinnan Co Limerick recntly. May they both rest in peace.
