Repair and Upgrade of the three churches in the parish: Thank you to everyone who attended last weeks meeting regarding the above. It was agreed that the issue is to be approached at a combined parish level. A building committee was formed and it was agreed that a single renovation account be set up for Kilglass, Rooskey and Slatta.
Flower show: Christmas Flower Show will take place on Monday 10th of December at 8pm in the Community Centre, Rooskey. There will be a demonstration by a renowned florist and the arrangement will be raffled on the night. There will be Christmas logs for sale also. Admission 10 euro, please support.
Carol service: Annual Christmas Carol Service and Nativity Play will take place in Rooskey church on Thursday 13th of December at 7pm. Taking part will be the members of the Rooskey, Kilglass and Slatta choirs, and the Kilglass Folk Choir, with children from the parish performing the nativity play. Refreshments afterwards in the community centre. Everyone welcome, please support.
Appeal: Roscommon/Mayo Hospice invite you to take part in their Shine a Light appeal by sponsoring a light for someone living or deceased on their ‘tree of light’ in Knock. Shine a Light cards and Christmas cards are now available locally.
Scor na Nog: Final takes place in the Dean Crowe theatre in Athlone on Sunday the 9th of December at 1pm. Well done to all who progressed to the final. They are the Figure dancing team of Emer and Katie Deehan, Niamh Doorley, Aoife Frayne, Kate Lawe, Clodagh Owens, Rebecca Rogers, Aishling Tighe. Lotto: Kilglass Gaels Lotto result, winning numbers were 18, 19, 21, 28, bonus 7. Five lucky dip winners receiving 40 euro each, The spice mothers, Bridgie Farrell, PJ and Kathleen Diffley, Seamus Nugent, Catherine Dowd.
