Community Games: The AGM of Clonbroney Community Games will take place in the Thomas Ashe Hall on Thurs Sept 20th at 8pm. All parents who have children competing for 2012/13 are asked to attend. The County community games will be celebrating its 40th anniversary next year. To commemorate this a book is being produced. Clonbroney will be featuring in it. Hillside Club: The club resumed on Wed last with a good attendance. Thanks to Ml Brady, Ml Hughes and A. Clark for the entertainment. Our night away was discussed and Westport was suggested. This will include 2 nights B & B and 2 dinners as the majority wishes to have a 2 night trip this time. This will take place next month and further details relating to the same will be revealed shortly. Our next club day was to be a visit to the Bowl Club but this had to be postponed due to unforeseen circumstances, so our next club day will be Wednesday Sept 26th at Currycahill, Mary’s Team on duty.

Health Fair: Longford Branch of Arthritis Ireland are hosting a Health Fair on Sat Sept 22nd in Temperance Hall, Longford, 11am – 4pm. Admission is free. Healthcare professionals attending are: Chiropractor, Reflexologist, Bi-Aura Healing, Physiotherapist, Chiropodist, Therapeutic Hand Massage and many more. There will be Information Booklets on all forms of Arthritis for all age groups and information of courses and programmes being organised by Arthritis Ireland. A fittlesticks Walking Programme (using Nordic Poles) Demonstration will take place at 12.30 and 2pm. Congratulations: Elaine Reilly from the John Dunigan Branch has been selected as a member of the Comhaltas Show which will tour Ireland. This show will be on in the Backstage Theatre on Monday 15th October. This is a marvellous achievement for Elaine and the John Dunigan Branch of Comhaltas as its almost 25 years since anyone from Longford was invited on to the show. Tickets are available at €10 each by texting you name to 086 8350148. There will also be an Irish music cultural evening in Ardagh Heritage Centre at 7pm this Friday evening. Admission free.
