THE LATE ROSE GALLIGAN
There is much sorrow in the local community on the occasion of the death of Rose Galligan (nee Brady), Legwee, Loughduff which occurred peacefully at her residence on Friday last.
Rose had fought a long battle with illness in the past number of years and her courage and determination was a marvel for family and friends as she accepted her cross with a strong faith carrying on with her duties to the end. Dedicated to her family and home she had a caring and friendly disposition and her husband Phil and children and extended family was her main focus with a warm welcome and hospitality to all who called.
We extend our deepest sympathy to her husband Phil, sons Padraig, Philip, Seamus and Ollie, daughters-in-law Lorraine and Denise, grandchildren Cian, Katie and Mollie, sisters Margaret and Mary, brothers John, Paddy, Fr Phil (P.P. Laragh), Monsg. Jimmy (New Jersey), and Hughie and members of extended family circle and many friends by whom she will be sadly missed.
The funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Mullahoran on Sunday was con-celebrated, the chief celebrants were her brothers Fr Phil and Fr Jimmy assisted by Canon Owen Devaney P.P. and numerous clergy and burial took place to Mullaghaboy cemetery. May she rest in peace.
The beautiful weather on Friday and Saturday gave a fine start to the bank holiday weekend and farmers a great chance to get bales and silage saved but torrential rain on Sunday which was unexpected put a damper of local activities which included sponsored walk and outdoor events in Kilcogy. However all went ahead as planned and well done to the organisers and those who braved the elements to raise funds for the various charities.
Meeting in the parochial hall this Thursday night at 8.30 pm. All grandparents are most welcome.
