AN TÓSTAL

The town was thronged for the weekend of activities marking the 59th Annual An Tóstal Festival. The Committee is to be commended on the number and range of activities which ran over the June Holiday weekend. The centre piece was the official Opening and Parade which took place on Sunday evening ,the official opening performed by local Broadcaster Kevin Blessing. A large crowd lined the streets for the colourful parade of floats representing local business and organisations. Representatives of Leitrim Co. Council, one of the main sponsors were present on the reviewing platform alongside local Councillors, TD’s and Senators from the Constituency. Also present the Cathaoirleach Cómhairle Chondae Liatdroma, Cllr.Frank Dolan. The 2011 An Tóstal Coleen, Ms.Lisa Sorohan received her Crown from Kevin Blessing while he also unfurled the official An Tóstal flag.
