FUNDRAISER - A fundraising night for the Multiple Sclerosis Longford branch and the pallative care cancer nurses will be held in Cooney’s Hotel Ballymahon on the 18th April at 9pm with food and lots of spot prizes on the night.

Congratulations to the Co Longford under 21 football team who had a great win over near neighbours Westmeath in the semi final of the U21 championship played in Navan on Wednesday. Very well done to local lad Kevin Diffley who had a great game and to Conor Keegan from Forgney who acquitted himself very well when he was brought on.

Congratulations to Sean Flanagan Longford ,a pupil at Ballymahon Mercy Secondary School who has been selected to play with the Irish International U16 boys golf team. GAA Race Day
Its almost the time of year for the annual Longford GAA Race day and this years’s event takes place on Wednesday 4th May a date for your diary. Tickets are one hundred euro each. We will have more details later.
Very well done indeed to Ballymahon /Forgney U14 football team who won the U14 Shield Final in Edgeworhstown last week. The young lads beat Carrick/Sarsfields on St Patrick’s Day and beat Edgeworthstown in the final.
Following its press release at Cooneys Hotel on Thursday night last the Co Longford Ploughing Association have announced that they will be holding their 77th annual ploughing championships on Sunday 10th April on lands kindly provided by the Mulvihill family Lisnaskey Ballymahon. There will be loy competitions and a field day consisting of tractor horse and vintage ploughing. Machinery show and trade fair, a dog show and exhibitions of draft horses, pony trials and jumping.
