THE LATE MRS NORA DALTON: The death occurred on Dec 5th last in New York USA of Mrs Nora Dalton nee McGrath formerly of Finea Co Westmeath. A native of Co Clare Nora was of a very pleasant & friendly disposition & will be sadly missed by her loving family & friends. For many years herself & her late husband Chris ran a very successful licensed premises in our village known as “The Good Olde Days” prior to their return to America. Her remains were interred in Finea cemetery on Saturday Dec 10th last following requiem Mass in St Marys Church at 12 noon. Deepest sympathy is extended to her son Christopher daughter Ann & Donna brothers , sisters daughter in law son in law grandchildren & large family circle. May she rest in peace.

CHRISTMAS TREE DRAW RESULTS: The following is the list of prize winners from the recent Christmas Tree Draw which was held in Fitzsimons Bar Finea on Sat night last Dec 17th. 1st Xmas hamper Maria Beathy; 2nd turkey Aisling Plunkett; 3rd gammon Frank Gurren; 4th Bt Brandy Aine Hasty; 5th Bt whiskey Paul Moore; 6th bt Sherry Stephen Reilly; 7th bt wine Ned Flood; 8th X Mas cake Megan McClean; 9th box chocolates Tony Gilhooley; 10th tin biscuits Olivia Plunket. The committee wish to extend sincere thanks to everyone who supported the draw, sponsored prizes bought lines to Ciaran for the welcome use of his premises & finally to those who erected and lit the tree which stands illuminating the street with a beautiful array of gaily coloured lights. A very merry Christmas & prosperous new year to all.
