CARRIGALLEN WINS: An American race horse called “Carrigallen” won the Luisianna Dons Race in the USA last month. The horses owners are Catherine Kavanagh Heitzmenn and her husband Eric who is also the horses trainer. Catherine’s mother Mona McManus is from Carrigallen and Catherine spent all of her spare time during her childhood with her siblings at Beaghmore in Carrigallen. Her uncle Seamus McManus still lives in Beaghmore Carrigallen and Catherine often spends holidays here with her uncle. She loves Carrigallen so muuch that she and her husband got married here in 2005 exactly 6 years to the day her grandparents Jamsie & Mamie McManus wedding took place in saint Marys Church Carrigallen. The people of Carrigallen wish Catherine and her husband Eric many more successful wins with their pride and joy “Carrigallen”.

COMMUNITY ALERT: Carrigallen launch community alert in Carrigalen Hall on Wednesday 19th Oct (not Oct 12th as stated in paper) will be at 8pm at least one person from every house in the Carrigallen ,Newtowngore and Drumeela areas are asked to attend hopefully this will cut some off the many household robberies that ave take place all over the parish.
