St Christopher’s: Legan branch of St. Christopher’s met in Milly’s Cottage on Friday night last to make further preparations for a special night of entertainment which takes place in the Rustic Inn on Friday night, August 19th 2011. Tickets are priced at €15 each and are available from committee members or local shops and pubs. A great night’s enjoyment is in the offing from a star studded line up headed by Mick Flavin and his band. A shuttle bus service will operate on the night to and from Abbeyshrule via Cluntymullen, Legan, Listreenagh, Carrickboy and Ballycloghan. The meeting opened with the observance of a minute’s silence as a mark of respect to the late Sylvia Dawson who established the Co. Longford Association for the mentally handicapped in 1964 and whose vision and relentless fight for funding and facilities has resulted in St. Christopher’s Services as we know it today. May she Rest in Peace.
