Good luck to Mayodele Rotimi – Ogundele Killashee who respesented Longford in the National finals of community games art competition. Mayodele is competing U12 and we wish him every success.

SUMMER CAMP

Stonepark Summer Camp will take place from Monday July 18th to Friday 22nd July at Stone Park National School. It will cater for children currently attending primary school. NOVENA

Novena to the Immaculate heart of Mary will take place in St Brendans Church Clondra on Tuesday evening at 7.30pm.

PILGRIMAGE

Fr Nigel Charles will lead a three day pilgrimage to Lough Derg from Friday 10th June to Sunday 12th. The cost of the pilgrimage is 75 euro (bus 20 euro Lough Derg 55 euro). For information an booking call 087 99649042.The bus will leave the Cathedral carpark at 9.45am on the Friday morning and return to Longford by 1pm (approx) on Sunday.

SYMPATHY

Deepest sympathy is extended to the brothers sisters and extended family of Frank Neary Knappogue whose funeral took place on Monday last. May his soul rest in peace.

TIDY TOWNS

Litter picking has been organised for Sunday 29th May at 11.30am. Volunteers are asked to wear hi-vis jackets and gloves , pickers will be supplied. Thank you to all who have made such great efforts to help keep the village looking well. The committee would like to see more volunteers coming along whether they be new or old residents to the area as many hands make light work and the Tidy Town Inspectors will be visiting the area in the next few weeks. The committee would like to congratulate Killashee school and mentors on winning their schools final last week and to say thank you to the pupils and their teachers Ms Chapman and Mr Chalmers for their help in litter picking. A fundraising quiz will be held in the Chestnut Tree Killashee on Friday 3rd June. Your support would be appreciated.

DEFIBRILLATOIR

ST BRIGID’S GAA

The bonfire and barbecue will take place on Friday 17th June at the club grounds Killashee. Music will be supplied by the fabulous Gobsmacked and tickets are on sale from any committee member. Food will be served from 10.30pm til 12 and there will be a fully licenced bar on the night. Any local business wishing to have their business advertisement on board along the pitch are asked to contact the committee.

LOTTO

The local lotto draw was held on Sunday night last. Numbers drawn were 1, 4, 6, 29. There was no jackpot winner. 40 euro went to Aine Jameson. 20 euro each went to Michael Jameson Derek Steele Conor Farrell. The next draw will be held in the Chestnut tree Kilashee on Monday 6th June for a jackpot of 13980 euro. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.

COMMUNIITY GAMES

Due to the inclement weather the sports day was postponed . The new date for the sports is Saturday next 28th May at 1pm.

Congratulations to Cait Kiely Eadoin Regan and Jack Coffey who represented Killashee in the swimming last weekend. Cait was second in her race while Eadoin and Jack came forth in their races. Well done.

MINI MARATHON

Once again it is mini marathon time with many ladies in training once again. Good luck to all taking part in this great event and as usual many national and local charities are the real winners of this event. My charity this year is St Christopher’s in Longford while Michael Cox is taking part on behalf of the Disabled People of Longford. We would appreciate your support for these two very worthy local charities.

SYMPATHY

Deepest sympathy is extended to Colette and PJ Oates ,Helen and Tony Dowd Celine and Pat Fallon, Caramana Olive and Jimmy Rowan, Derrygowna and all members of the Green family on the recent death of their mother Kathleen Greene Lanesboro. Kathleen was predeceased by her husband Harry and her son Pat. Kathleen’s funeral took place on Thursday last. May her soul rest in peace.
