FUNDRAISER

Street parish council are hosting a fundraising night in the Streete complex on Friday 27th May 2011 from 9.30 to 1.30am. A multitude of top entertainers including Robert Mizzell Country Kings plus Pat’s Country Road Show will host a lively show on the night. Tickets 15 euro with licenced bar. A bus will be departing from Kirnan’s forge Killoe with booking details from Maguire’s Bus Hire Granard tel 087 6213526. All proceeds in aid of Floodlit walking track Street. DANCE SCHOOL

An economy six week dance courses or children of all age groups commences on Saturdays from 1pm – 2pm in the Aerobic Room Longford Sports and Leisure Complex The Mall. Dances include hip hop , line ballroom , ceili, Irish plus a host of other varied dances. Due to the recession classes are at an economy price of 4 euro per child or 8 euro per family. BUDDING SINGERS

Congrats to Dean Fitzmorris Patrick Columb Eamon Keogh (jnr) Leah Dunleavy Katie O’Driscoll, Jade Gill , Niall Finnerty who will represent 5th class St Theresa’a NS Clontumpher Killoe in the National Childrens Choir to be held in Dublin. We wish the boys/ girls including their teacher Grainne Fox a happy experience plus all of 5th class who participated ,well done. Congrats to all the school Scor finalists.

SYMPATHY

Sincere condolence is extended to Seammus Higgins and family Bawn Killoe , Higgins families Drumadorn Cloone Co Leirrim on the sad bereavement of their mother Ellen (Nellie) nee McCrann who was laid to rest last week. The parish express condolence to her sons,daughters, sisters/ brother, sons /daughters in law, grandchildren, great grandchildren extended families, friends. Requiem Mass was celebrated in St Mary’s Church Cloone followed by burial in adjoining cemetery. May she rest peacefully.

COMMUNITY GAMES

Well done to our two local swimmers who represented Killoe in the County Finals on Sunday last the 22nd of May. Clara Doherty took silver medal in the Girls U8 25m Freestyle and Aaron Gilna took silver in the Boys U8 25m Freestyle. Congratulations to you both. We wish good luck to Marie Lynch who represents Co. Longford in the Community Games National Finals this coming weekend. Marie be taking part in the U14 Solo Recitation final and no doubt she will give the audience a very entertaining performance. Also heading from Killoe to Athlone to represent the county is our U13 Choir, ably directed by Gráinne Fox. Having gained great experience this year through taking part in the National Children’s Choir, we hope that this event will be equally enjoyable for these children. Good luck to everyone involved in the Choir and many thanks to Gráinne for all her hard work. Our U15 Boys Indoor Soccer team will also play in the National Finals, and are one of the final four teams left in the competition. Good luck to team members Oisín Bennett, Aaron Clyne, Ciarán Donohoe, Cathal Flynn, Micheál Hughes, David McCarthy, Conor Moran, Ryan Moffett and to team manager/trainer Mark Hughes. Our Killoe participants will compete on the 28th and 29th of May and we hope you will all have a great weekend and a very enjoyable experience.
