WIN FOR GARADICE - Garadice Gaels collected their third brace of Minor League points with a deserved 1-15 to 3-5 win over Dromahaire in the icy cold of Aughawillan on last Sunday evening.
Playing with the wind and supplied by their dominant midfield duo Noel Plunkett and Stephen Gilheany with a consistent supply of ammunition the forwards gave a good account of themselves, and the defenders, despite a few slip-ups, performed with discipline in a number of threatening situations. John Gilheany, Fionnbar Quinn and Seán Fox were seen to good effect as they repeatedly shut out the Dromahaire. Pádraig Gaffney (2pts) and Gary Plunkett (pt.) capped great displays before referee D. Moran’s final whistle. The Garadice team lined out as follows: Daire McNiff, Kevin Murtagh, John Gilheany, Seán Fox, Fionnbar Quinn, Killian Lavin, Stephen Gilheany (0-2), Noel Plunkett (0-1), Gerard Curran, Declan Flanagan, Kieran O Haire, Gary Plunkett (1-10), and Conor Gaffney (0-2). Sub used: Adam Kearns.
