The big news this week is that Streete Parish park Complex has been booked for yet another Basketball All Ireland competition on April, 16th and 17th. This is a very big category and two venues are necessary for both days so we have come to an agreement with the committee of Mullahoran Hall to hire their venue. As we have to supply names of accommodation providers we will appreciate contact from anyone who can provide B & B to Jimmy Brady at 087 9287129 A.S.A.P. This is a great honour for us and much credit goes to Teresa Daly of Streete Warriors and Jimmy Brady of Streete Parish Park Complex who worked very hard to be selected. We send our best wishes to Streete Warriors in this competition. More news and details nearer the date.
We now have two facebook sites with our details of events Streete Parish Park Complex and Ireland Walking so please have a look and pass on the word to your friends. Thanks to Grace Bruton, Ballynacargy for creating these two sites for us.

Congratulations to all thirteen on the panel and, of course, their Coach, Dean Heffernan and Assistant Coach, Christina Kelly. At the end of the first round games our lads only had one defeat, to Castellany. They continued into the Top 5 competition, second round, recording wins in their subsequent three games. The final of the Top 5 was on Sunday last against Castleblaney. It was a brilliant game between two worthy finalists. The first and second quarter Castleblaney were ahead by 2 points, 14 16, 9 11, the 3rd quarter saw Streete Warriors ahead by 4 points (13 9, on the final quarter Streete increased their lead by 8 points (10 2). The final score Streete 46 Castleblaney 38. A big thank you to our Table Officials, Ciara McAdden and Scott Hynes. Our refs for the game, Kieran Moran and Paul Sheridan. The Westmeath Bowls league competition has concluded. Congratulations to Mullingar bowls Club on being the outright winners. Both Streete teams finishedwith equal points in the middle of the league table. Streete Bowls hosted a very successful ladies only competition recently, sixteen enthusiastic lady bowlers from eight different clubs participated. The standard was very high and there were some great games played, especially the semi-final between Nancy Whelan from Kiltoom and Mary Smyth from Castlepollard. Nancy just got there in the end! The other semi-final between Mary Nee and Mary Robinson both from the Castlepollard Club was a cliffhanger. Eventually Mary nee got the upper hand of her opponent. Mary Nee go the better of Mary Walsh in the final and was presented with the Mary O’Hara memorial Shield, which was presented by David O’Hara, son of the late Mary O’Hara. Prizes were also presented to the runner up and semi-finalists. The club would like to thank everyone who brought food and who helped to organise this event. A very special word of gratitude to Bernadette Fagan who did the catering so efficiently on the day. The singles competition is getting to the quarter final stages and it is hoped that it will be finished by the first week in April; New members are welcome at our club.
