LOTTO

There was no winner of the 15,000 euro jackpot. The numbers drawn were 9, 13, 19, 20.The numbers drawn for the second jackpot of 4050 euro were 8, 9, 14, 23. There was no winner of the jackpot. The six drawn winners are Ned Maher, Sheila Beirne, Martin Manning, Marcella Donnelly, Aaron Scally and Joe Walsh. The next draw is 21st March 2011 and this draw will have two jackpots one for 15,000 euro and the next for 4200 euro. The results of that draw will be printed next week.Tickets can be brought in Sexton’s Shop, Rathowen Post Office, Connaughtons Pub and Feericks Hotel, along with several people selling. TIDY TOWNS

A new committee and members for tidy towns was organise in November, with John Feerick as Chairman, Ita Tighe as Secretary, Denise Fulham as PRO and Peter Fulham & Joan Tormey as Treasurers. The group meets up every Saturday morning and carries out tasks around the Village. These tasks include cleaning litter along the main road and side roads and sweeping the footpaths. The plan for 2011 is new flower boxes and hanging baskets, along with new village signs and painting of derelict houses and cutting hedgerows and trees.

ST MARY’S NS

Ms Keegan and all the junior and senior Infants would like to say a huge thank you to everyone for helping us collect old mobile phones. We have collected over 330 mobiles so far. We are still collecting them for the Jack & Jill Foundation so we can get a free Interactive Whiteboard. If you have any old mobile phones that you would like to donate, you can leave them in the school, Sexton’s Shop, Waddlers & Toddlers or Stepping Stones. PARENT & TODDLER

Gymboree was a great success at the Parent and Infant/Toddler Group in Rathowen Community Centre on March 8th. The morning was enjoyed by Mum’s & Dad’s and children alike. Yesterday we were busy making St Patrick Day Cards & Flags. We are sure all the family are delighted with the great artwork displayed in their homes. All are welcome to attend next Tuesday from 10.30am to 12.30pm. Tea, Coffee, Juice & biscuits are also available along with a good chat & fun. Only €2 per family.

ICA NOTES

Rathowen ICA is holding a raffle before Easter.1st prize is a hamper and more details to follow with list of other prizes. The ICA meet on the 2nd Wednesday of each month and new members are always welcome.

ST FINTAN’S GAA
