With strong winds and heavy rain expected this weekend, Longford motorists are being urged to take care on the roads.
Wet and windy weather is set to see us into Spring, as Met Éireann issue a ‘Status Orange’ weather warning.
The wind warning for Leinster, Munster, Connacht, Donegal, Monaghan and Cavan was issued in the early hours of this morning, Friday, and is valid from early tomorrow morning up to tomorrow night.
According to Met Éireann: “During Saturday 1 February southwest winds, gradually veering westerly, will attain mean speeds of 65-75km/h gusting 110-130km/h countrywide.”
The status orange warning encourages people to prepare appropriately for the expected conditions.
