With World Autism Day taking place today, Wednesday, sights are being set on the next big event - MWB Autism Support’s annual fundraising dance.
Midlands, West and Border (MWB) Autism Support is a Longford-based family support group run entirely by parents on a voluntary basis. The group is open to any family with a child who has been diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The group host all manner of activities and events, organising amazing events such as music therapy, special glee club sessions, easter egg hunts, swimming, horse-riding and more.
The group also provides invaluable support to the families of those with autism, allowing them to share their experiences and advice with each other.
To help them to continue their amazing work, MWB is hosting a fundraiser dance this Friday, April 4 in the Sin Bin at Longford Rugby Club, starting from 9pm.
There will be plenty of entertainment on the night, with two local bands - Driftwood and Keep r Lit - guaranteed to keep the crowd dancing until the small hours. There will also be a raffle with some amazing prizes up for grabs!
Tickets, costing €10, are now on sale. To buy a ticket in advance, contact Claire Sullivan (086 3283847), Sian Hennessy (087 0929015), or message the group via Facebook (mwb autism support). Tickets can also be purchased at the door on the night.
All are welcome to the Rugby Club this Friday to enjoy a great night of music and dancing - all for a good cause!
