Longford water consumers have been hit by a series of disruptions today.

Water consumers in Longford have been hit by a number of disruptions today (Wednesday, June 25).

Irish Water, via their official twitter account @IrishWater, has announced that a water mains has burst at Market Square in Longford town (affecting the Railway side and surrounds) and the service is expected to return by 5pm.

Burst water mains are also affecting the Elfeet & Cloonmee areas of Newtowncashel.

Cloonmee was due to be restored around 1pm and Elfeet is due back at 5pm.

A burst water main on Soran Rd is affecting Soran, Ballinalee area & surrounds. Service is expected to resume for 4pm this afternoon.

Ireland’s new national water utility has also tweeted that consumers on the Rossduff & Cornadrung Group Schemes areas, Aughnacliffe Group Water Schemes can expect disruptions up until Friday to allow for leak detection and repair works.
