Expenses paid to members of the Longford/Westmeath Education and Training Board (ETB) for the past 18 months were made public during last week’s board meeting at Ardscoil Phadraig in Granard.
CEO Christy Duffy pointed out that everything was above board and that as far as he was concerned, payouts for the period had been “very modest”.
A number of members including Cllr Peggy Nolan (FG) and AEO, Mary Farrell indicated their dissatisfaction at the information citing errors in their overall payment calculations. CEO Christy Duffy assured members that the matter would be checked out.
From January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2012 the following expenses were paid out the Longford members on the board of the ETB:

In Westmeath, a total of €16,017.48 was paid out in expenses in 2012 while €18,209.02 was allocated in 2013. “I feel that the expenses for Longford/Westmeath is very modest and there are no problems in relation to the prublication of these figures,” Mr Duffy added. “I am delighted that they have been published and that the figures are there for everyone to see.” Two members then indicated that their figures were incorrect and subsequently spoke to the CEO following the meeting which was held at Ardscoil Phadraig in Granard on Monday of last week.
