With tallies complete in the Longford area, Fine Gael’s John Browne looks set to top the poll with 709, while it seems Seamus Butler (FF) will make a return with 675.
Things are also looking good for Peggy Nolan (FG), who tallied at 623, and Gerry Warnock (Ind), who looks to have notched up 604 votes.
Padraig Loughrey and Michael Connellan (both FF) are neck and neck at the moment on 503, but Mae Sexton (Ind) and newcomer Yvonne Ní Mhurchú (FG) are close behind at 500 and 481, respectively.
Paul Connell (Ind) looks to have received 332 votes and he told the Leader earlier today that he was resigned to defeat. His fellow Independents Tony Flaherty and Martin Clyne are at 235 and 107 respectively, while Sinn Féin’s Barbara Smyth is currently at 246 votes.
