CHILDCARE: Legan Community Childcare Committee Annual General Meeting to be held in Naoi Rath Re Creche, Legan on Wednesday 12th January 2011 has been changed to Wednesday 9th February 2011 at 8.00pm due to unforeseen circumstances. All are welcome.

This year's Christmas GAA Lotto was held in Connaughtons on Monday 22nd for a jackpot of 8100 euro. The numbers drawn were 11, 13, 23 and 30. There was no jackpot winner. Match three winners of 50 euro each were Peter Boylan and TJ Keenan. Special Christmas Draw winners of 20 euro each were K. McGuire, Winetown 3, Roisin Casey, Gerry Gunshinan and Mel Donnelly. Last week's draw was held in Slowey's on Tuesday 28th December 2010. The numbers drawn were 1, 9, 11 and 25. There was no jackpot winner. Match three winners of 50 euro each were Jimmy Nulty and Pete Donnolly. This week's draw for a jackpot of 8200 euro was held in Casey's, Carrickboy on Monday 3rd January 2011, results of which will be published next week.
We wish Helen Keenan, former principal of Ballycloghan National School the very best of luck in her retirement. Helen was a member of staff at Ballycloghan NS for over thirty years and all her colleagues, past pupils and community wish her well.
As this Friday, 7th January 2011 is the First Friday of the month Mass will be said in St Mary's Church, Legan at 10.00am and in St Anne's Church, Ballycloghan at 7.00pm.
This Thursday 6th January 2011is the Feast of the Epiphany and a Vigil Mass will be held in St Anne's Church, Ballycloghan on Wednesday 5th January 2011 at 7.00pm. Mass in St Mary's Church, Legan for the Feast will be held on Thursday 6th January 2011 at 11.00am.
Well done to Elizabeth Brady on winning the Ladies Footballer of the Year at the recent Longford GAA All Stars Awards. Elizabeth is a member of staff at Ballycloghan National School and the parish congratulates her achievement wholeheartedly.
