CHRISTMAS

Well done to all who took part in the celebration of Christmas in both Sacred Heart Church,Whitehall and St.Anne's Church,Scramogue.Our choirs added to the occasion in both churches.Thanks to Fr.Eamon for his participation and the parish committees.Also those who prepared the Churches,a big thank you to all.

DRAW

The Annual St.Barry's draw took place recently and the following were the winners: 1st Prize Monster Hamper Sean Costelloe.; 2nd PrizeHamper Pat Donnelly; 3rd Prize Voucher for Keenan's Pat Halpin.

CHURCH CHOIR

Scramogue Church Choir are to be commended for their performance on Shannonside/Northern Radio on Christmas night.The two hour broadcast made lovely radio,and to our Choir and all the participants congratulations to you all.

CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to Padraig Halpin, Ballytouhy who recently won the Co.Final Recitation contest recently held in Dean Crowe Theatre in Athlone. Hard luck to both our Ballad Groups. We are very proud of those young people who represent their parish with such dignity and honour.

Scramogue Church Committee wish to thank the community and others for their assistance with the recent card drive in aid of Scramogue Church which took place in Leavy's Lounge.

Winners as follows: 1st Prize Christmas Hamper Richard Jordan(player Michael Doorly); 2nd Prize 100euro.Ethan Rogers(player Alan Neary); 3rd Prize 50euro.Keelan Campbell(player Barry Burke). Congrats to all.

SYMPATHY

We extend sympathy to John and Phil McGowan and family, Newtown Whitehall on the death of John's brother Peter McGowan which took place in Huddersfield, England. We also extend sympathy to Peter's sister in law Vera McGowan and family, Cloonshannagh, Rooskey. May he rest in peace.

Congratulations to Siobhan Thompson Tonycurneen,Strokestown and Ollie Lohan,Triala Martin,Curraghroe who were recently married in St.Anne's Church,Scramogue.Siobhan and Ollie are two very popular members of the local community and their relations and many friends wish them both the very best for the future.

PARISH SOCIAL

Our Annual Parish Social for Scramogue was cancelled recently due to the very difficult weather conditions.The function will take place in Leavy's Lounge at a later date.
