PETER AND MAURA WED
Our warmest congratulations to Peter Gaffey Mohill and Maura Ward, Corduff, who were united in matrimony in St. Mary's Church, Annaduff, on the 29th December 2010. The cebrant was Fr. John Wall PP and the lovely bride had as her bridesmaids her sister Sinead and Laura Diffley. The groom's brother James was best man, while the groomsman was Philip Casserly. The beautiful music which added to the joy of this special occasion was supplied by Miss Stella Bass together with brothers Cian and Conor Ward. Following the ceremony, a reception for family and friends was held in the Lough Rynn Castle Hotel, Mohill.
MOHILL BRIDGE CLUB
We welcome back all our players this Wednesday January 12 at 7.45pm to Clarke's Hotel for our first game of 2011.
JOHN JOE MC CONNELL
There was widespread regret here in Mohill on hearing of the sudden death of John Joe McConnell, Hyde Street, Mohill, who died at his residence on December 27 2010. John Joe was a native of Drumahair but since he came here to Mohill over 50 years ago to work for Quinns, he was highly respected by all who knew him. He was a born gentleman, always there to help others with a big smile and cheerful greeting. He will be missed, but we shall never forget him. His burial took place to Mohill Cemetery following Requiem Mass in St. Patrick's Church, at which celebrant Fiber Hogan spoken eloquently about John Joe. The lovely music on this sad occasion added to its solemnity. Our sympathies are with his sisters, brother, their extended families, companion Maureen, neighbours and all who mourn John Joe at this sad time.
We wish to add congratulations to the many received by Seamus McCrann, Mohill, and Bernie Egan, Cornageeha, whose engagement was announced over the festive season. Our congrats also to Jennifer Leslie, Gortletteragh and Brendan O'Reilly Carrigallen who also celebrated their engagement recently.
