Congratulations to Rachel Cullen, Cornagran, Loch Gowna and Keith Beirne, Roscommon, who were married on Wednesday December 22nd in the Church of Ireland, Loch Gowna. The happy couple celebrated the occasion with a reception in the Radisson Hotel, Cavan. We wish Rachel and Keith a long and happy life together.
We extend sympathy to Dan McCormack, Cloonagh, Dring, on the death of his brother Eamon which occurred in Montreal, Canada on Tuesday, December 28. Also to Eamon's wife Olga and family in Canada to whom we extend our condolences. May he rest in peace.

The Loch Gowna GAA Club held their New Year Function on Sunday night, January 2 in the Piker's Lodge Hotel. Presentations were made to the following couples to acknowledge their recent marriages. Ronald and Annette Simpson, Ronan and Una Bannon, Brendan and Clare O'Reilly, Paul and Edel Cullen, Bernard and Aine Sorohan, Dermot and Maria McCabe, Gary and Louise Duignan, Gearoid and Sharon Reilly and Damian and Elaine Fitzpatrick. The highlight of the night was the announcement of the Lord Mayor of Loch Gowna. This campaign, which had been conducted over a period of time, raised a substantial amount of money to enable the club to further its on going developments. The winner was John Dewart Cronagran to whom everybody extends a hearty congratulations. The club wish to acknowledge the magnificent efforts made by John and his team of supporters. They also wish to thank the other candidates; Enda Boylan, Fiona Boyle, Madge Fitzpatrick and Barry Martin for their own individual contribution with out them the campaign would not be possible or successful.

ALTAR SOCIETY MEETING
Holy Family Church, Gowna Altar Society Committee Meeting will take place on Sunday next January 16 after Mass in the Church. New Members very welcome.
Deepest sympathy is extended to Philip Brady, garage proprietor Main Street, Arva, on the death of his wife Marie which occurred on Tuesday December 28 at Cavan General Hospital. Also sympathy to her daughter Johanna, sons Catha, Gerard, Philp. Niall, Finbar, Padraig and Michael, sister Mrs Mae Caffney, brother John Duignan, daughters in law and grandchildren. Her remains were removed from her residence on Wednesday evening to Sacred Heart Church, Arva and following Funeral Mass on Thursday, burial took place in Coronea Cemetery. May she rest in peace.
