A search and resue team from Lough Ree Sub Aqua Club participated in the recovery operation for the remains of Barry Davis Ryan, who went missing off the coast of Co Cork, in a multiple drowning tragedy on June 30.
“A team of seven travelled to Baltimore last Wednesday (July 8); six divers and another crew member to drive and refill our tanks,” said club representative Sean Doyle.
The team conducted three dives in difficult conditions over two days. “Underwater visibility varied throughout the course of the day with reports of less than one metre being experienced,” Mr Doyle explained.
Mr Davis Ryan’s body was recovered last Friday, July 10.
