MWB Autism Support have had a busy few weeks.
A support group for parents with at least one child on the autism spectrum, the group host regular meetings, invite guest speakers and organise outings and activities. They also provide a support network and information service for parents, carers and teachers, and help them to access relevant training courses.
Recently the group have taken part in a number of new activities. Jeanette Everson of Enchanted Fairy Workshops facilitated a clay class for the children. It was a new experience for the children, and though there were reservations at first due to the sensory issues that some of the children have, it was a huge success.
The children also took part in football training and a sports morning at the Mall Complex, organised by Andy Smith. Another new experience for the children, and yet another that was greatly enjoyed.
MWB would like to thank Jeanette Everson and Andy Smith for facilitating the activities. Thanks also go to the customers of Dunnes Stores for their generosity on MWB’s bagpacking day. Just over €795 was raised.
