Thieves target local Church

Vanadals targeted Newtowncashel Parish Church in recent days.

The residents of Newtowncashel were left shocked and unsettled after the Church of the Blessed Virgin was targeted by thieves.

The residents of Newtowncashel were left shocked and unsettled after the Church of the Blessed Virgin was targeted by thieves.

The Candle Shrine was raided, and a crystal cross and bowl - property of a parent left on a side altar for the First Holy Communion - were taken in an incident that is thought to have occurred on Thursday May 16th.

If anyone has any information on the incident, they are urged to contact the relevant authorities immediately.
