Gang snatch copper in early morning raid

Gardai are on the hunt for a two man gang who broke in to Quinn's Supply Stores in Edgeworthstown on Monday.

Two masked raiders escaped with up to €20,000 in copper piping and other high value equipment following a break-in at a store in Edgeworthstown on Monday morning, writes Liam Cosgrove.

The thieves, both of whom had their faces concealed, also made off with copper cylinders, led and wire during a near two hour raid at Quinn’s Supply Stores.

All of the items were taken from the business’s yard after the gang prised open three gates at around 3:30am. Gardai have declined to release any details surrounding the extent of what was taken for operational purposes.
